Every pair we sell is handcrafted in Felgueiras, near Porto. Felgueiras is one of the main historic centres of shoemaking in Portugal. Here is what that means in practice.
Italian materials, made in Portugal
The suede and the leather come from Italian tanneries. Cutting, stitching and assembly are done in Portugal. We have chosen to keep our production in Portugal and to continue working with Italian leathers and suedes.
Assembled piece by piece
A sneaker is made of several dozen pieces, each cut, prepared and placed by hand. This is why two pairs of the same model are never exactly identical, and why a cobbler can repair a pair.
The details
The details are pressed, engraved, cut or moulded directly into the materials, so that they stand up better to wear. The logo is debossed into the leather, the signature on the side of the SDT is cut from suede or moulded in rubber, and the metal tag on the laces is a separate part.
The box
The Booted comes in a craft box, the Ice Pack in its own box. We recommend keeping it: it is a suitable place to store a pair between seasons, away from light and dust.
