A few simple habits help extend the life of your sneakers. Care is not limited to cleaning: the way you wear, dry and store your shoes also plays an important part. A well-cared-for pair can be worn for many years.
Alternate between pairs
Feet release moisture during the day, which the lining and the footbed absorb. Alternating between several pairs lets each shoe dry properly between wears. If you only have one pair, avoid wearing it several days in a row where possible.

Shoe trees or paper
Shoe trees help the upper return to its shape while it dries and limit creasing across the toe. Paper does a similar job. Put them in as soon as you take the shoes off.
Store away from light
Direct sunlight yellows white rubber, fades suede and dries leather out. The box the pair came in is a suitable storage place: dark, dry and the right size.
Undo the laces
Undoing the laces before taking the shoe off limits the strain on the heel and the rear structure. Pulling a shoe off by standing on the heel can damage the heel counter, which holds the back of the shoe in shape.
Repair early
A handcrafted shoe is made of separate parts, which allows a cobbler to work on it. A worn sole edge, a loose eyelet or a loose stitch is easier to repair when caught early. If something seems wrong with a pair bought from us, write to us before wearing it further.
