Our clothes share one rule: avoid high temperatures when washing and drying. Cold water, inside out, no tumble dryer. Here is the detail for each piece.
The GTR hoodie
Heavyweight cotton shrinks in hot water and loses its shape in a tumble dryer. Wash it cold, inside out, on a short cycle, with the drawstring tied so it does not slip into the hood.
Dry it flat rather than on a hanger: when wet, the weight of the cotton can stretch the shoulders. Do not iron over the embroidery.
The Jersey Joga
Polyester holds odours, so it is better to wash the jersey after two or three wears. Cold water, inside out, no fabric softener, which coats the fibres. Do not tumble dry, and do not iron directly over the badges.
The Racing Jacket
With its patches and embroidery, the jacket is not suited to machine washing. Clean marks with a damp cloth, air it after wearing, and take it to a dry cleaner if it needs more.
The GTR cap
A machine can deform the cap and crack the visor. Clean it by hand with lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap on a cloth. Let it dry on a rounded object, such as a bowl, so the crown keeps its shape.
To space out washes
Airing a garment after wearing it helps space out washes and keeps its colour for longer.
