White sneakers are easy to wear, but marks and dirt are naturally more visible on them. A light, regular clean, started from the first wear, keeps them white without much effort.
Before the first wear
On suede, apply a suede protector spray and let it dry completely. Dirt will then stay on the surface instead of sinking into the nap.

On leather, no preparation is needed. A soft, slightly damp cloth is enough for everyday care.
Regular care
White suede
Brush it dry, in one direction, with a suede brush.
White leather
Wipe it with a barely damp cloth, then dry it.
The sole
Wipe the rubber with a damp cloth. A scuffed edge may need a little more rubbing.
Removing a mark
On suede, wait until the shoe is completely dry, use a suede eraser on the mark, then brush again. Do not wet white suede: water can leave a ring that is harder to remove than the mark itself.
On leather, a damp cloth is usually enough. If the mark remains, repeat the next day rather than scrubbing.
Yellowing soles
White rubber yellows with sunlight and time. Storing the pair in its box, away from direct light, slows this down.
What to avoid
Washing machine, bleach, toothpaste, hair dryer and radiator. None of them are suitable for white sneakers.

Questions
Can I put white sneakers in the washing machine?
No. Water lifts the glue and can deform the shoe.
How do I clean white suede?
Dry: brush, use a suede eraser on marks, then brush again.
Why has the sole gone yellow?
Because of sunlight and time. Store the pair away from direct light.
Suede or leather for a white pair?
Leather is easier to care for day to day. Suede has a softer look.
