Leather is one of the easiest materials to care for. A slightly damp cloth is enough in most cases. Here is how to look after smooth leather, patent leather and hand-dyed leather.
Smooth leather
Dampen a soft cloth, wring it out and wipe the shoe. Dry it straight away with a second cloth.

For a scuff, wipe once more and let it dry. Leather marks less than suede and recovers with wear.
Patent leather
Patent leather cleans simply with a damp cloth, then a dry cloth. Do not use a brush or a solvent.
In storage, keep patent pairs apart from each other, as two lacquered surfaces can mark when they rub together.
Hand-dyed leather
On the Cor-V Faded, the shades are applied by hand. Wipe gently with a barely damp cloth and let it dry naturally. Do not scrub the dyed areas and do not apply any product to them.
Leather and suede on the same shoe
On the Veuve Noire, use the cloth on the leather parts and a suede brush on the suede parts. Let both dry before wearing the pair.
Storage
Keep the pair away from direct sunlight, in its box if possible, with paper or shoe trees inside to hold the shape. Avoid heat sources such as radiators.

Questions
Do I need shoe polish?
Not usually. A damp cloth and a dry cloth are enough for everyday care.
How do I clean patent leather?
With a damp cloth, then a dry cloth. Do not use a brush.
How do I keep white leather white?
A light, regular clean is preferable to an intensive occasional one. A quick wipe once a week is enough.
Can leather shoes go in the washing machine?
No. Water and heat damage the leather and the glue.
